Hanne advises clients about all aspects of EU and Belgian competition law (mergers and antitrust regulation, state aid, etc.) and the fundamental EU freedoms (freedom of goods, services, establishment and capital). She regularly represents clients in legal proceedings before the Belgian competition authority, the European Commission and the national and EU courts.

Hanne is particularly active in the following domains: transport, life science, public investments and public service missions. She also represents and advises several clients in the distribution sector.

Hanne specialises in state aid matters in a wide range of sectors. She advises clients on the qualification of a measure as state aid and on its compatibility and assists them by drafting and submitting notifications of individual aid or aid schemes to the European Commission (rescue and restructuring aid, RDI aid, investment aid, operating aid, etc.) and by representing them in investigations concerning illegal aids.

Hanne has gained extensive experience in the aviation sector (notifications of state aid for different EU airports and local authorities, representing airports before the European Commission and the EU courts, drafting contracts with airlines, ground-handling, airport charges, etc.).

Hanne also provides support to clients for creating compliance programmes and offers training sessions/presentations on different topics related to competition law.

Hanne has a Master of Laws from the Universiteit Gent and gained an LL.M. from the Institute of European Studies (Université Libre de Bruxelles).

Hanne has been recommended by Legal 500 in the Category Aviation (2018 and 2019) and Competition Law (2019).
