Download vCardElias is an associate in ALTIUS’ banking and finance department. He has a solid academic background in both law and finance. Daily, Elias deals with a variety of financing transactions and various regulatory matters in the financial sector.
He has in-depth and practice-oriented knowledge and experience in financial regulations such as IDD, MiFID II, PSD II, UCITS, AIFMD and the upcoming MiCAR. He regularly assists start-ups, fintech companies and well-established financial institutions with their regulatory queries and needs, approvals and authorizations, national and cross-border restructurings, and discussions with supervisory authorities.
For collective investment undertakings, ranging from UCITS to small-sized AIFs, Elias assists its client from the initial structuring and establishment of the fund to day-to-day needs such as the restructuring of the board of directors and the approval of marketing materials.
Elias also has in-depth knowledge of consumer and mortgage credit legislation and knows his way around the Belgian framework on insurance distribution and intermediation.
On the transactional side, Elias supports Belgian and foreign corporate clients and financial institutions by advising on and negotiating transaction documentation and putting in place appropriate security packages in a variety of national and international loan transactions.
