Carmen adviseert een brede waaier van nationale en multinationale cliënten over alle aspecten van het Belgische en Europese mededingingsrecht. Haar expertise omvat onder meer kartelzaken, distributienetwerken, overeenkomsten inzake technologieoverdracht, joint ventures, misbruik van machtspositie en staatssteunkwesties. Ze vertegenwoordigt ook cliënten in antitrustzaken voor zowel de Belgische als Europese mededingingsautoriteiten en rechtbanken.

Carmen begeleidt regelmatig multinationale cliënten bij het opzetten van compliance programma’s en opleidingen. In het kader van concentratiecontrole staat ze cliënten bij in het verkrijgen van goedkeuring van de Belgische mededingingsautoriteit en de Europese Commissie, evenals bij de coördinatie van concentratiedossiers in tal van andere landen.

Daarnaast heeft Carmen een ruime ervaring opgebouwd in het adviseren over een breed scala aan complexe contractuele vragen en het opstellen van diverse soorten commerciële overeenkomsten.

Carmen werd benoemd tot Assessor bij de Belgische Mededingingsautoriteit en tot Maître de Conférences van de Universiteit van Luik, waar ze doceert in het LLM-programma Europees mededingings- en intellectueel eigendomsrecht. Ze werd verkozen tot Voorzitter van de International League of Competition Law/ Ligue Internationale du Droit de la Concurrence (LIDC) en is bestuurslid van de Belgische Vereniging voor de Studie van het Mededingingsrecht (VSMR). 

Daarnaast is zij benoemd tot expert bij de Commissie van advies inzake commerciële distributieovereenkomsten en is ze lid van de juridische commissie van de Belgische Franchise Federatie.
