Gerrit practices ICT and general commercial law. He regularly advises on: computer law; privacy and data protection; electronic communications; e-commerce; outsourcing; digital signatures and certification; cloud computing; commercial practices including (on-line) advertising; and general commercial law. Gerrit also conducts ICT-related litigation.

Gerrit is a certified Data Protection Officer.

Gerrit is a regular speaker at conferences and has published extensively in the fields of ICT and commercial law. Gerrit is also president of the Legal Hub of the Belgian Association of Marketing (BAM).

Gerrit is also a member of ITechLaw and the Internet Advertising Bureau. He is a guest lecturer and freelance Researcher at the Centre for Law, Science, Technology & Society studies at the University of Brussels.
