| On 30 March 2006 Paul Maeyaert received the prestigious “Wim Mak award” from the Benelux Trademark and Industrial Design Association ("Benelux Merken- en Modellenvereniging"). His legal article “Colour trademarks: out of the grey zone ?” ("Kleurmerken: weg uit de grijze zone ?") was considered the most outstanding and significant contribution to the development of trademark law of 2005. Wim Mak was head of the trademark department of Phillips from 1967 to 1985.
Nicolas Clarembeaux also received an honourable mention for his contribution on “The protection of geographical names” ("De bescherming van geografische benamingen"). So ALTIUS was awarded two prizes !
