Information and Communication Technology

ALTIUS’ ICT team is headed by partner Gerrit Vandendriessche and assists hardware manufacturers, software developers, system integrators, ecommerce players, search engine operators, telecommunications operators and suppliers of other ICT-related services, such as consulting, support and maintenance services. The team regularly advises on computer law, e-commerce, electronic signatures, outsourcing, cloud computing, telecommunications law and e-billing. It assists IT start-ups in setting-up their commercial structure and also supports clients on general commercial law and trade practice matters, including (on-line)advertising.

The ICT team has developed a particular expertise in privacy and data protection and regularly assists clients in their compliance with Belgian and EU data protection (local privacy audits and EU-wide data protection compliance). It frequently carries out data protection compliance projects and provides day-to-day advice on data protection to multinational corporations and organisations.

ALTIUS' ICT lawyers conduct ICT-related litigation, representing clients in disputes regarding software development contracts, ERP projects and Internet services.
