ALTIUSʼ Commercial department has significant experience in providing advice on a broad range of commercial issues, covering an array of commercial agreements, trade practices, consumer protection, advertising, labelling and unfair competition practices.
The Commercial department has developed solid experience in contract law, providing advice on the most complex contractual matters and the drafting of all types of commercial agreements (sales, leases, distribution, agency agreements, joint venture agreements, commercial co-operation agreements, loans, guarantees, etc.).
Given the increased importance of competition law issues in all sorts of commercial co-operation agreements, the team also includes a number of specialists with in-depth knowledge of Belgian and European competition law.
Distribution Law
The Commercial department has especially developed solid experience and an in-depth understanding of Belgian and international distribution agreements. It regularly assists Belgian and international clients in the development of complex networks and modes of distribution adapted to the specific needs of the client, taking into account the increasingly complex Belgian and European laws, including: distribution, agency, franchising, distance selling and e-commerce.
ALTIUSʼ Commercial department assists its clients in negotiating and drafting agreements and preventing and settling disputes. Legal proceedings related to distribution agreements are handled in co-operation with ALTIUSʼ Litigation department, defending clients in disputes with an indepth knowledge of procedural law and thorough experience as litigators before courts and arbitration panels.
